More Holiness Give Me

The other night while I was in the Target parking lot, a man came up to my husband and I.

He asked if we could spare him 85 cents so he could catch the bus. As he spoke, I could tell that he was intoxicated by the smell of his breath.

I quickly pulled out my wallet and gave him $1.00 in quarters.

As I got to thinking about this man, I made a judgement thinking that he probably wasn't going to spend that 85 cents on the bus, but likely alcohol.

As I got to thinking more, I realized that was not my place to judge him.

As Christians, we are commanded to serve everyone

We cannot pick and choose who we want to serve.

These past couple weeks, I have had multiple experiences with serving. I truly believe that it is my Heavenly Father putting them in my path.

Serving has definitely put my world into a new perspective. A perspective of how grateful I am!

I have so much to be grateful for.

So during this holiday season, I want to challenge you guys to count your blessings, serve without questioning it, and be grateful for what you have today.

There is this hymn that we sing in my church and one of the verses has been echoing in my head this week:

more gratitude give me, more trust in the Lord
more pride in His glory, more hope in His word
more tears for His sorrows, more pain at His grief
more meekness in trial, more praise for relief.

Have a great week and a more wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
